Full-Sawn Rough Deck Boards

Rough-cut lumber for trailer decks is full-sawn, square-edge hardwood planking for decks that call for maximum durability, a rough surface to help grip your cargo, and load capacity. Because they are cut full to size, a 2x8 measures a true two inches by eight inches, which leaves more wearable material than a dressed board of the same nominal size.

Our rough sawn lumber can vary by as much as 1/4" - for example 2" boards can vary from 2" to 2-1/4". Never undersized, but most commonly 1/8" over sawn.

Rough-cut deck boards are appropriate where a smooth, finished surface simply isn't the priority. For exposed applications, treating rough-cut trailer decking with a quality penetrating oil can also protect the wood from weathering and extend its service life.

Stocked sizes run from 2x6 and 6/4x8 up through 2x8, 2x10, 2x12, and heavy 3x12 planks, in Standard-and-Better Apitong (Keruing) and kiln-dried Angelim Pedra (Brazilian Apitong). These are the boards used on low boy and drop deck trailers that haul equipment, steel, and machinery.
