About S4S Wood Boards

We start with rough lumber over sized as cut by the sawmill. We then take these rough sawn boards and surface them through a planer to a nice much more consistent size. Our S4S square edge products are smooth surfaced for thickness and width.

These boards are much easier to install than our standard rough sawn material.

About Brazilian Apitong, Angelim Pedra

Angelim Pedra, commonly called Brazilian Apitong, is a medium tan color with a defined grain. It has mineral deposits, known as pedras (stone in Portuguese), which is where it gets its name. Angelim Pedra is commonly used in industrial applications as well as for exterior residential decking. It is naturally durable and economically competitive to other industrial woods such as Keruing / Apitong.

Brazilian Apitong, Angelim Pedra Surfaced Hit or Miss to 1-1/2" x 7-3/8" with 1/8" tolerance

For skip dressed boards we generate a net thickness of 1.5" and net width of ~7-3/8". We run through the planer to achieve a finished board which is dressed on all four sides, however the results are that not 100% of the boards may be perfectly uniform in size, shape, and texture. There is the potential to have some roughness, dimensional imperfections (usually within +/- 1/16”) and irregularities.

About Std + Btr

Standard and Better is the typical grade for most truck trailer or industrial applications. In tropical hardwood this means few if any knots, no structural defects, and scattered pin hole is allowed. We inspect all shipments of material at the source with our own quality control personnel.
